I’m Maddie Lyons, a clinical naturopath with a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) from Endeavour College of Natural Health and member of the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia.
I first discovered naturopathy as a teenager when I saw a naturopath to explore my own recurring respiratory ailment. I discovered the importance of being heard, and uncovering the root cause. I decided to study naturopathy so I could help others too.
Whilst living in the Northern Rivers and working in childcare, I gained a deeper understanding of the health concerns voiced by mothers and young families. I chose to focus my studies on fertility, women’s reproductive health and paediatric conditions.
Throughout my studies, I worked for Mudbrick Herb Cottage in the Gold Coast hinterland, tending to the herb nursery and manufacturing herbal products. As my interest in herbal medicine and plants grew, I completed my Permaculture Design Certificate at Kendall Permaculture Farm on the Sunshine Coast, where I learned more about nature’s cycles and developed a passion for the intersection of plants, food, and people, as well as growing and incorporating herbal medicines into daily life.
In 2023, I launched my clinical practice, where I predominantly work with herbal and nutritional medicine to help others restore health and wellbeing. I am passionate about the power of natural medicines and taking the gentle approach to treating ailments, whilst supporting others to achieve their health goals with an integrative approach.
In 2024, I joined the Apotheca team working in a clinic and dispensary environment alongside naturopath Anthia Koullouros and holistic nutritionist Heidi Ancich. I also joined The Village Collective, a multi-modality clinic space and community of allied health professionals focused on supporting women during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, infant and children’s health, and family health based in Ettalong Beach, Central Coast.
In 2025, I completed a 5-month mentorship immersion with herbalist and nutritionist Erin Lovell Verinder, where I deepened my herbal knowledge and gained valuable skills to support my clinical practice. I also embarked on a 6-month course called Matriatrics with Dr Oscar Serrallach, an integrative medicine course for maternal health practitioners.
In 2026, I relocated back to the Northern Rivers region living close-by to the rivers, waterfalls and hinterlands where my naturopathic clinician journey began. All naturopathy consultations are currently offered online via Telehealth, Australia-wide.
